Spaceland has had their share of some great bands. It's virtually a launching pad for up and coming bands. More recently, The Arctic Monkeys played their first Los Angeles gig here as well, only to go on to sell out multiple shows in bigger venues upon their return. There wasn't much chatting between the lads from Brighton and crowd, but the band was amazing as they plowed through each song. Lead singer Luke Pritchard's guitar seemed to be having problems throughout the set, but that didn't matter. Somehow, he reminded me of Noel Gallagher with his shaggy long hair, but only by looks and not action. It's been a while since I've truly enjoyed a show throughout the whole set without getting bored. So when the band left without an encore it was the only disappointment of the night. I guess homie don't play that. Oh yeah, and what was up with that photographer who jumped on stage and started going aggro with his handheld flash getting up in their faces? I'm surprised he didn't get a guitar to the head.
