The Return of the Rentals. For those of you that don’t know, the Rentals is a band created by original Weezer bassist Matt Sharp that gained famed back in the day with the song, "Friends of P." This was the second of four shows (which sold out) at Spaceland where the Rentals have a month long residency. The entire lineup has completely changed except for Rachel Haden. The band played most of the classics from their first album and even played a Weezer b-side, "I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams," which was originally sung by Rachel Haden and Rivers Cuomo. The Moogs were in FULL EFFECT and they even busted out the trombone for a song. Now that’s what I call keepin’ it real! It’ll be interesting to see what direction they’ll be going for their upcoming album.
