UCLA Office of Instructional Development

The goals for OID's redesign called for, but were not limited to:

  • Updating the content of the site
  • Updating the look and feel
  • Making the site more consistent
  • Making the site easier to use
  • Making the site easier to update
  • Future proofing the site

The solution combined an Open Source Content Management System (CMS) called Plone with the power of CSS to not only redesign the entire site, but to customize the backend as well. CSS was used to skin the default Plone site you see at http://www.plone.org to OID's current design.
